Government Benefit Payments

Friday, 01 February 2013

Any person who now receives paper checks for government benefit payments - including social security, Supplemental Security Income, Veterans Affairs, Office of Personnel Management and Railroad Retirement Board - must sign up for direct deposit or they will automatically be enrolled in the government debit card program.

There are many good reasons to use direct deposit services.  It is safe, lessening your chances of falling victim to identity theft.  It's easy; on the scheduled day, the payment is sent directly to your bank account.  It's fast; your money is in the bank and available immediately.

Please visit with a personal banker today to help you switch from paper checks to direct deposit.  You can also visit www.GoDirect.org or call the U.S. Trasury Processing Center at 1-800-333-1795.
